Symphion Enterprise Assessment
A board ready, 20 point print fleet cyber risk assessment that turns complacency into action.
Most organizations know printers are a blind spot. Very few can prove the risk in a way that wins ownership, budget, and urgency.
The Symphion Enterprise Assessment closes that gap.
We examine up to 500 printers across your environment against the 10 riskiest configuration items, and evaluate the 10 processes that most determine your print fleet’s protection and cyber hygiene. Then we deliver a succinct, scored, board‑ready report you can use to move from “we should do something” to “this is funded.”
Why an Enterprise Assessment?
Print fleets make up about 20% of your endpoints, yet 99% are unprotected from even basic cyber risks. All it takes is 1 unprotected printer endpoint for criminals to get in, move laterally, and interrupt your business.
Complacency shows up the same way in almost every fleet:
- No clear owner or budget for printer endpoint protection.
- No accurate, current inventory of the fleet.
- No reliable way to know when device settings (if hardened) change or how long it takes to remediate them.
- The assumption that “digitization” made printers less important, even as they support mission‑critical processes like patient care.
Boards and executives need more than a feeling that risk exists. They need evidence, a score and a clear story.
That’s what the Enterprise Assessment is designed to provide.
What does the Enterprise Assessment Include?
The Symphion Enterprise Assessment has two parts.
- Electronic examination of up to 500 printers (10 configuration controls)
We electronically examine each in‑scope printer against 10 highest‑impact configuration items drawn from Symphion’s Print Fleet Cyber Security Best Practices model, including: Password status (strength, defaults, lockout), Hard drive status (presence, encryption capability and state), Firmware status and others.
For each area, we identify current exposure and connect it to real‑world outcomes that your board will recognize: outages, ransoms, lawsuits, and business interruption.
- 10‑point process interview (how your environment actually runs)
Technology alone doesn’t determine your risk. Your processes do.
We conduct a focused interview on the 10 processes that create or reduce vulnerabilities in print fleets including: Inventory and IT asset lifecycle (IMAC‑D), micro‑segmentation, CMDB refresh frequency and accuracy, security configuration management, change control and others.
The result is a practical picture of how well your current processes protect or expose your printers in real life, not just on paper.
What You Get: A Scored, Board Ready Report
Within a couple of weeks, you receive:
- A 20‑point scorecard covering 10 configuration items and 10 processes.
- A clear risk narrative in business language (not device jargon.)
- A board‑ready report that maps your current state to published real‑world incidents and cost bands.
- Specific, prioritized areas where governance, budget, and policy must change
We can also present the report to your executives or board if requested.
Who It’s For and How It’s Priced
The Symphion Enterprise Assessment is designed for organizations with:
- Complex, multi‑location print fleets.
- Internal recognition that printers represent real risk, but no clear path to quantify and fund protection.
- Stakeholders in IT, information security, procurement, and operations who need a common, evidence‑based starting point.
Pricing:
- For qualified customers with 3,000 or more printers, Symphion offers the Enterprise Assessment at no charge.
- For others, it is billed at a nominal fee that is credited in full against a Symphion total program if purchased within 60 days.
